Beach Bum Beauty

Bali Body Oil

I was actually so impressed with this product, I wish you could get it here in Canada. Not only does it have natural ingredients, but it nourished my skin like crazy (even better than aloe) after being in Mexico. Unlike most people who use this product as a tanning oil, I didn’t attempt to since my skin is so fair.

Goddess Garden Sunscreen

I love this sunscreen line! For years, I was on a hunt to find the best sunscreen on the market (clean ingredients and good protection), and Goddess Garden won by far. When picking out suncreen, you should avoid the following ingredients: Retinyl Palmitate/Vitamin A (which becomes a carcinogen once exposed to sun), Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate, Octocrylene, and Parabens. Usually the less ingredients, the better the product.

Abaco Beach Company “Sunkissed” Hat

Abaco Beach Co. is mainly known for their beach hats that not only look fabulous on the beach, but provide great sun protection. The hats come in two colors (black and natural) and have various sayings on them. Check them out here:

Fake It

I’ll admit, I don’t tan very easily so I usually resort to self tanner. Loving Tan is by far my favourite since it contains organic ingredients and gives you a nice olive colour, rather than orange. It lasts around a week and a half if you moisturize daily and don’t over exfoliate.

Dry Brush

Using a dry brush on your skin not only exfoliates your body which helps give you a flawless tan, but it also stimulates your lymphatic system so your body can release toxins. I always start at the bottom of my legs, and work my way up to my neck.

When Life Gives You Lemons…

Put them in your hair! Here’s my little trick. I’ve never dyed my hair, but sometimes in the summer when i’m out in the sun a lot, my hair will lighten about three shades. So to speed up the process while on vacation, I mix lemon juice with chamomile tea. This will work on blondes, however if you are brunette just be careful! It may give your hair an orange undertone.

Pucker Up

Your lips need some love too, but obviously putting regular sunscreen on your pout isn’t the best idea. I make sure to always apply a lip balm with an SPF of 15 or higher before going out in the sun. My go to balm is the Jack Black Moisture Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25.
