Awaken Your Inner Girl Boss

I’m the type of person who has way too many tabs open in my brain. I’ll want to accomplish everything and anything all at once which gets me distracted from practical goals that I should be focusing on. A girl can dream, but I definitely had to find a few ways to narrow my focus and work towards being a girl boss.
Feeling the same way? Here are 8 tips + tricks to awaken your inner girl boss and reach your full potential.

1. Write it Down

I’m the biggest notebook hoarder (thanks Indigo), and need one with me at all times. There’s days when my brain goes into overdrive and I’ll have to clear my head by putting pen to paper. Having your ideas and goals right in front of your eyes will help motivate you to go out and chase them, instead of just dreaming about them. So go ahead, doodle, write out your favourite quotes; whatever gets you going girl.

2. Run

It’s easy and effective. Head to the gym with a playlist loaded with bangers and get on that treadmill. There’s days when I don’t feel as creative or motivated so my quick fix is doing some cardio and listening to music that gets my adrenaline pumping. Not only does it get me back on track, but it helps clear my mind as well. Listen to ‘Jump’ (Feat. Gizzle) by Lupe Fiasco. It’s a dope one.

3. Your Workspace

Your workspace environment is so key. Ideally, you want an area with lots of natural light, that’s clutter free, and aesthetically pleasing. My first stop is always IKEA, because IKEA truly has everything you need to stay organized (and okay those Swedish meatballs are amazing too). Next stop, the most dangerous place known to man… Indigo (I do a ton of damage there if you haven’t figured that out yet). Tip: Style your desk with a candle from Indigo… zen vibes.

4. Pin It

If you’re not already using Pinterest, get on that. I tend to go on my account first thing in the morning to get inspired. Whether I’m looking for that perfect work outfit, or trying to find a feel good food recipe, it’s your one stop shop for inspiration and motivation.

5. Advice from Others

Sometimes we all need a pep talk or advice from someone else to help give us that extra push. Instead of staring at a subway map for 20 minutes during your morning commute, download some motivational podcasts and simply listen. Tony Robbins is my main dude, and he should be yours too (sharing is caring right?). He discusses things like life mastery, 6 steps to total success, how to get focused, and the art of fulfilment. 7. Get Energized

Coffee, meh. I know, it’s a must-have for everyone in the morning but it dehydrates you and makes you jittery. Lets talk alternatives. Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I do is drink a bottle of water. This hydrates you and gets your metabolism going. Then I grab what I call “my miracle drink” which is a liquid supplement from Isagenix called Ionix Supreme. It’s seriously given me more energy than coffee ever did and it helps reduce my stress levels. Thanks to this combo, I feel super charged up and ready to conquer the day.

8. Read
